Nikon follows Olympus with retro Nikon DF

It looks like the success of the retro Olympus OM-D E-M5 has not gone unnoticed by Nikon.  They are poised to announce the new Nikon DF retro design DSLR camera.

Olympus OM-D E-M5

The 16 megapixel Nikon DF takes retro one step further than the diminutive OM-D with the inclusion of dedicated manual control dials for a real classic shooting experience.

The DF is a full frame DSLR so will be considerably larger than the OM-D and is rumoured to cost an eye watering $2746.95 for body only.  It's a stills camera only, so no video mode.  I really like the idea of a stills camera only then I don't have to listen to people complaining about why their camera doesn't have a million video features. Because it's a stills camera!

I think the DF is a good move from Nikon and will be a big hit for DSLR users who can afford it.

Canon - are you listening!
