The E-P3 is still a great little camera
There are plenty of good digital cameras out there today. However, simply following DxOMark sensor ratings or resolution charts won’t give you the full picture of the capabilities and usability of a camera, even though test scores can aid your decision-making. Sometimes it’s just simply the way a camera feels in your hands or how your important settings are just one press of a button away that makes it the right camera.
If it feels right, then it is right because you’ll use it more. When I bought my Olympus E-P3 I knew it felt right. With the interchangeable larger hand-grip, faster AF and more controls at my finger tips, I knew that this little camera was the right one for me. I enjoy using it and it’s always by my side ready to snap away whenever I feel like it.

I often hear the E-P3 being described as ‘ageing’, and even if that’s the case in this fast moving digital world, it’s getting old gracefully. I feel that this camera makes me want to take photos because it’s such a beautifully crafted tool.
With this thought in mind and a few hours to spare, I decided to jump on a tube to Central London to check out some of the sales; camera by my side, ready to snap away in between shop visits.
Central London is always bustling with shoppers, tourists, students, workers, cyclists and all sorts of dubious characters. The crowded streets don’t make it the easiest place to take photographs but with the small innocuous E-P3 at hand I can always seem to grab a shot of something that attracts my attention.
The city has a rhythm that’s fast paced and a beat that gets my adrenalin flowing, encouraging me to embrace the challenge of capturing a fleeting moment . A camera like the E-P3 is a great tool to inspire confidence.
Here’s some photos I took while in Central London. Sorry, no test charts or data. I just captured what I saw in my own way using the E-P3.

If you have a few hours to spare why don't you take your camera and head out to your city or town centre and see what you can capture. You may be pleasantly surprised.
