The Olympus OM-D E-M5 finally gets a real price reduction in the UK - body only for £839.00 or £989.00 with the 12-50mm lens. The E-M5 has held its list price of £999.00 body only and £1099.00 with 12-50mm lens (give or take a few £s) for approx. 10 months, only offering free accessory deals.
This is great news for those who have been waiting for a price reduction. The EM-5 has earned a reputation of being the best Micro 4/3rds camera for shooting stills as well as being one the most desirable designs.
Furthermore, this price reduction seems to coincide with the imminent announcement of the successor to the EP-3 camera, which is expected later this month along with a new f2.8 zoom lens. This suggests that the E-P3 successor will be priced lower than £839.00 for the body only, but may also suggest that a higher end OM-D is coming.
A new O-MD! Could this be real? Anything is possible and a higher end OM-D model would make Olympus a formidable force in the CSC camera arena.
What do you think?
